1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
However, it's a good robot vacuum choice for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or at night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and make more noise.

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map.
