1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40

It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robotic mop and vacuum robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Finally the recharge and resume feature that lets your best robot vacuum that mops vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
