1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic hoovers vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. They also have carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
