The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled as well as large debris and wash them if needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top pick), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's more expensive and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home via the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots that vacuum and mop we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
